Former VP, Content Services, Mozilla
As one of the first to bridge Silicon Alley and Madison Avenue, Darren straddles marketing, finance, and technology. For that reason, we look to him to tell us what lies between those blurry lines, considering he helped blur them over his career. He founded a programmatic trading desk, oversaw digital media for MDC Partners Maxxcom Media Group and ran the MDC Partners/kbs+ corporate venture fund. Currently he's VP of Content Services at Mozilla. A content guy that understands the underlying tech and the overarching business dynamics? Sounds about right for this Top Marketing Innovator and a Media Allstar. Sessions with Darren will support the Mozilla Foundation.
New Business Development
The Mozilla Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes openness, innovation and participation on the Internet. We promote the values of an open Internet to the broader world. Mozilla is best known for the Firefox browser, but we advance our mission through other software projects, grants and engagement and education efforts such as Mozilla Webmaker. Webmaker is all about building a new generation of digital creators and webmakers, giving people the tools and skills they need to move from using the web to actively making the web. Other projects, like Mozilla Open Badges, seek to unlock the full educational potential of the web by making it easy for users to get recognition for skills they learn online and offline.
